Express buses to UCD stopping at College Green area (Dublin)?

    Hi,

I've recently begun working at UCD. I take a bus into town first and then the 10 to UCD, no direct route for me :(

Getting the 10 every morning is killing me, I prefer the expresso buses when one shows up, but it's difficult to gauge when these are due in the College Green area.

Does anyone have any info about what time window they pass through this area?

if you state where you're coming from it will help people give more accurate assistance.

Can you get on the NNx buses at college green? I know they stop at college green and then go to UCD but I always presumed they for people getting off not on. I presume minimum fare still applies.

Ideally, I want to catch an Xpresso bus in the College Green / Trinity area (mornings) There are no express bus routes near where I live, so I will continue to take my usual bus into town, and am just wondering if anyone knows when the express buses tend to cross the College Green area.

I've managed to catch one or two from the college green area over the past week or so. The minimum fare is still in place.

When the network review comes into place, some buses from northside will continue onto UCD instead of stopping in the city centre. So we're you're coming from is relevant.

Mornings is quite the specific narrow window there.

The reason I asked where you are coming from is that there might be a more sensible point for you to intercept an Xpresso bus rather than College Green but if you're not bothered giving that information search here for more assistance

There are several expresso routes travelling throght that area en route to Belfield - the 25X, 27X, 32X, 37X, 39X, 41X, 66X, 67X and 70X all generally pass the bottom of Grafton Street (they serve the first stop - except the 27X which serves the 7 stop) from 0750 onwards until 0850 or so. They are not timed in the city so it's hit and miss, but there are large numbers of Xpresso buses coming in (particularly from the Lucan corridor) between those times.

Anyone can board the buses. The minimum fare does apply, but you can use your commuter tickets and Travel 90 tickets.

It's not that I'm not bothered giving my journey starting point, it's that
    1. it's a safety issue
    2. it's not relevant as it is not anywhere near the existing express bus routes. I've looked into it and the best place for me to intercept an xpresso route is in fact the college green area.

Thank you. I thought it might have been a small window of time like that - I was in town the other day at 7.20 am and didn't see a single one! Maybe too early. Thanks for the info, it's really helpful.

It is, but I have mobility issues that makes the extra walking a problem for me. It's a great bus though!

You would have been far too early at that stage.

The first 25X leaves the outer terminus at 0710, and first 39x at 0700.

just as a heads up if mobility is an issue. Ucd's internal roads are likely to be altered over the next year, as a new building is going up near the current 10 bus stop. I'd guess the expresso terminus might get moved too. Haven't seen anything online pointing where they night move to though. There is also the 11b as an into belfield option, if you're on the clonskeagh side of campus, though i wouldn't bet on the terribly timetabled route surviving the network review.
