well the Scar Light is the handiest to get spare mags for, other than that its all personal prefference, do you like black or tan? the SSR is just a really long scar heavy too, no difference other than appearance really.

Have both the l and the h as Masada said it really comes down to mags for me with the h you can only used the vfc mid caps and there 60$ for 3

You main decision is between the Scar H/L or the SSR version.
If you're planning to snipe/long range etc then go with the SSR otherwise go with the H or L version.
I had the L version...very good and accurate with good range.
You need a 8.4 or 9.6 battery in it..the 7.4 lipo is crap and I'm not sure if this one supports the 11.1 v lipo.

    Here's a review on the H version..

SCAR L - most practical and a great performer.

    Good taste in AEGs btw.;)

Nothing wrong with a 7.4v lipo it's what I run, as long as it's at least 2000 with a 15c tbh advice 20c the lipo will easly outperform the 9.6 normal

On the VFC? I found it only gave the same as the 8.4v and the 9.6v easily increased the ROF..
maybe i got a dud one

Without knowing the mha and c rateing it's hard to tell

7.4 just tells you that it has 2 cells you need the other details to tell you what you will get out of it

For example I've seen airsoft 11.1v lipos giving you less power than a large 9.6 because the c rating is only somthing lke 12

I have a tan L STD and it's awesome. I use TNT 9.6v battery and I get ~25rps which is more than enough for any situation.

Scar L dude - no hassle getting mags and more easily swapped out between aegs (at least in my case with a gaggle of armalite-alikes!).

As Puding has said, you need to look at more than just the voltage on the packet. Although, I've noticed a few people complaining about 7.4v LiPos in the Scar-L that are of the ASG variety, so it's possible that they (ASG) have a very poor current rating (C).

the asg ones i;ve seen are about 15c but only 1000mha resulting in piss poor performance, the same issue comes up with the asg 11.1 its why so many people get away with running them because tbh there output is only that of a large 3500mha 9.6v

had a few people at the show who have been running asg go abd buy themselves something like a 11.1 20 or 25c and wonder why the gearbox has a nerves break down within seconds

Indeed Puding - I could name and shame a team mate here for that sin - trying to up the rof with all sorts of ... ahem ... upgrades and wondered why the gearbox had the absolute cheek to go to pieces. It would have been funny if this hadn't been at least the 2nd time that he'd done this! You know who you are!!:D

ah ASG...that explains why then :D
    I'll avoid in future:)
