Using the Desire in the car

    Hey, have the Desire. Love it. But I'd like to use it to play music in the car. Does the Desire have a built-in FM transmitter (that I cannot currently find), or is there some periferal I can get to allow me to play music over the car radio? Thanks in advance for the help!

    I use a bluetooth to FM transmitter I bought on adverts a while back.
    It works with any phone that does bluetooth audio over A2DP.
    It also lets you put in an SD card or a 3.5mm jack and have that go to the stereo too.
    There's a USB port on it as well which you can play music off a flash drive, but I'm
    using it to keep the phone charged in the car. It looks a bit like this , but my one has a gooseneck stalk on it which is handy for cars with recessed lighter sockets like my Scenic.

    The FM radio chip onboard the Desire/Nexus One is capable of being used as an FM Transmitter as well as receiver but I doubt it will ever be enabled for some unknown reason.

    They both also support Wireless N by hardware but it's disabled on both devices for some undisclosed reason.
