I'm sure you all heard the safety campaigns about mobile phones, well i think they should include ice cream cones too.

The amount of people i've seen driving around whilst licking on there 99 is unreal.

Eat the cone before you drive - thats my safety motto.

Do you not have the hands-free 99 kit?

I'd be more worried about the folks steering with their knees while eating a big mac.

Ah the old 99. Reminds me of sunny days in my summer job, tearing along the back roads with the tractor and low loader eating a 99 with one hand and on phone to my boss with the other and steering with my knees. It was an art form in itself. :D

The worst I've ever seen is someone reading a book while driving. To be fair she was stuck in traffic and was slowly moving and stopping every minute or so, still ridiculous though, reading a page every time the light goes read.

When I was learning to drive the truck I was eating a breakfast roll on back roads in Clare and my boss was asleep in the passenger seat.

I clipped the ditch, the front wheels went into it and like a suction the whole left side of the truck went in. He was thrown out of the seat and hit the roof. I vowed never to do that again. :D

Sure thats nothing. When the summer was really here some of us would be sent to the shop to get 99s for everyone. Usually two of us went to get 99s for 7 or 8 of us so the driver would have two or three and the passenger the rest! Now you've got me wanting a 99!

Once we had an ice cream machine in the back of the VW Transporter being delivered to a new customer but it was hot so we stopped at a shop on the way and got some 99's.

Further on we were pulled over in a layby chomping down on the cones when this old fella sitting on the bench says "Where did you get those, they look nice"

The other guy with me points into the back of the van and says "We make our own"
"You have an ice cream machine in your van"
"Ordered straight from Germany when the van was being built"

The look of shock on the aul mans face. :D

Worse is trying to pour the last few crisps out of the bag into your gob without having to look up at the ceiling of the car!!! (try it while stationary!!)

Eat the cone and dont hit one.

Only really works for going though roadworks . . Feck it.

Still though, I agree with the OP. Imagine someone dropping it when encountering a tricky situation and getting distracted by a Magnum on the crotch.

Ahh I couldn't eat one while driving. They make a mess and your hands stick to the steering wheel. :o

A Calippo is best while driving cos you can park it in the door handle between bites, and then it lasts much longer than the 99 the missus has. I sometimes see the local patrol car parked outside the ice cream shop and a guard coming out with a handfull of cones. Cool, I'm in favour of happy guards.

The brain freeze from a calippo while driving could result in a visit to the ditch though!
