I had a problem with my jg aug steyr so i had to dissasable the gear box, when i was done i also installed a tight bore barrel as well and now the fps of the gun has drop quite a bit. Th gun can barely shoot through one sheet of cardboard, and cant even shoot through one side of a pop can. If this because of the tight bore, or could i have done something to the gear box when i took it apart?

bit hard to say but if it has lowered could be an air seal problem

what was the original problem with the aeg what made you take the gearbox apart? did you change and parts within the gearbox

i would advice thought getting your aeg chronoed correctly and get a fps figure with .20g bb as the cardboard and can method is not the best, once you have an accurate fps reading a little easier to see what is going on

I dont have a crono but i can tell its dropped quite a bit from what it was. There was a problem with the semi auto trigger system, I didnt add or change any parts. Could i have put the cylinder in wrong or something?

If you have a vented cylinder then yeah you could have put it in backwards and that would seriously screw things up power wise.

If that's not the problem then like Puding said you have a air seal problem. Check where the cylinder and cylinder head connect (Might as well check out the pistons seal while your there). And make sure the barrel and hopup rubber are seated properly and firmly in the hopup chamber . And make sure the hopup chamber and the front of the gearbox are seated properly.

Vent should be closest to rear of gearbox. If it's a tapered cyclinder, loose side should be to rear, entry point of piston.
