    Hi,

The game Altitude is free on Steam for the weekend, its a pretty fun game. Mix call of duty perks with over the top dogfights and great animations and its pretty much this game.

Here is the link if you want to see what it looks like before downloading from Steam: http://store.steampowered.com/app/41300/

does that mean after weekend the game will lock up and become a demo or something again? or is it just the online play that is free for wkend?

it'll probably expire early monday morning(like 6am ?) for us, that goes for both the free weekend and 50% off sale, and the download was 413 mb, went very quickly for me regardless

Can you just buy it to your account now and download it later sometime for free?

wait. is it only free to play this weekend? not like portal which is a free download and play whenever you want. after monday, even if you have it downloaded, you won't be able to play it. have i got that right?

Notice: Play the full game for free this weekend only! If you already have Steam, click here to start installing Altitude now. Need Steam? Click here.

full game free to play only this weekend, after it expires it'll just be the demo(of which i dont think you can play live against other players) plus it'll go back to full price if you want to buy it

Free to play this weekend. Also at 50% off if you buy this weekend (€4.49) vs the full price from Monday which is €8.99.

    Hope that clears this up.

No, that is entirely untrue, let me clean this up for you since all you newbies to steam with the free portal promotion seem to be getting confused:

A 'free weekend' happens every single weekend on steam. They offer a certain game, to play from Friday - Midnight Sunday for free. After Sunday, the game will remain on steam, but you will not be able to launch it. It doesn't become a demo, it's the full game, you just can't launch it. That's it.
