This is an unsual question I guess. I wouldnt mind driving something like a gs450h for a year or 2. The problem is, if I buy an 08 (€630 tax) I might have some chance of selling it although it would be difficult & very hard to judge what I might lose on depreciation. If I buy an 07, I would be married to it due to €1600 tax. That is why I thought if it was possible to drive something like this on a lease, at least id know what it was costing & I wouldnt have the headache of trying to sell it on again.
Is it possible to lease a used car like this? I imagine it might be if the lease company took one in from the first user & had it in stock but apart from that?

That's the only way it's going to be workable, leasing used cars doesn't work unless the lease company has owned it from new.

I'd say something like that would be rare enough, but if someone did have one - they would probably jump at the chance of putting it back out again for another year or 2. Something like that would probably stand them about €15,000 more than it's worth!

Keary's in Cork are a Lexus dealer with a Leasing company as part of the group, so they may the best to try. Denis Mahoney Kilbarrack are a Lexus dealer and have the Avis Lease franchise on site there so might be worth a shout as well.

The problem is, a bank will not put a used vehicle on contract hire, unless its a commercial (VAT invoice required). Its far too hard to put a private vehicle on Contract hire, because there are VRT implications for the finance house.

The only finance company I know of who even look at private individuals are AIB. I'd doubt they would look at it for a used vehicle though.

Your only chance would be to approach a Fleet company who are self-financing in the hope they have something like this coming back shortly standing a massive amount.

Get emailing the contact details on every fleet companies website you can find and see what comes back.

I pretty much knew it was a long shot but I think it is the only way to take on the car I mentioned.
