fitting roof racks on a hatch back

hey just come from halfords, basically am looking to fit roof racks to the car, they had,nt my required parts in stock but anyway i have the code numbers for the thule brand i need for my car

HOWEVER am curious to know how these are mounted to a hatch back, car is a 2000 civic.
the guy was,nt sure how they would go on "as there are no back doors for the brackets to be mounted like on the front"

anyone any ideas,, can a hatch back take roof racks


totally in the dark surely its possible

I can't actually see a 2000 Civic 3-dr on there but for other vintages of 3-dr Civic they seem to be suggesting to use a 'short roof adapter'. What it looks like is that you then have two brackets holding the rack on where the door is, and the rear feet just rest on the roof.
