Have to hand it to Veolia/LUAS, very swift updates, great communication. First thing I heard at the LUAS stop here at the point this evening was a full, seemingly live announcement and full explanation (this being that a building had been damaged on a fire and they were waiting on a structural engineer to declare the line safe). In comparison, IÉ's recorded "the 0900 train is delayed by _10_ minutes due to _operational reasons" are useless.

Also two-three staff on duty at the stop, drivers of the trams were out on the platform answering questions and being generally helpful rather than sitting behind the controls with their nose in a paper ala Dublin Bus.

    Hats off, Veolia.

NB : I work just beside Jervis LUAS and have a view straight down onto the platforms.

What happened was what usually happens: The waste ground and old derelict Irish film institute ? building just to the east of the westbound platform is set on fire from time to time by the more indigent members scumbags of our society [ same thing happened a few months back ]
