    Hi Everyone
I have spent a while lurking and trying to get all the info I need to change my diet (that's done now!) and was looking for your opinions if thats ok.

Breakfast - Piece of fruit first then one to two hrs later is porridge made with water
cashew nuts and raisins for a snack at 11 (small bowl)

Lunch is tuna(mixed with mayo) from deli counter with lettuce, mixed peppers, red onion, tomatoes, & pineapple drizzle of sweet chilli sauce

snack on fruit in the afternoon
Dinner can be chicken breast, fish or some Quorn product and lots of veg staying away from potatoes for now

haven't really worked out the rest of the evening yet but it tends to be more nuts and fruit at the moment.

I run 3 times a week (Mon 5miles Wed 3miles and Sat 7 miles) and do circuit class 2 morns a week

    How does this sound??
I am looking to lose a stone BUT keep it off this time!! Usually I follow WW but find that I eat too many low-point snacks which lead to more snacks and it seems like a vicious circle

Sorry for the long post and feel free to move it if this is in the wrong section

it looks fine to me! dont forget cottage cheese and maybe home made flap jacks for snacks.. berries are good for breakfast.. if your snacking on fruit later think apples + pears.. make sure you get lots of green veg in at least one meal.. overall it is a lot better than most peoples diet :-)

You'd probably be better off making the tuna mayo yourself, that way you can control how much mayo is in it. Deli counters can tend to smother everything with mayo

It's good but could be improved. I'd replace some of the fruit snacks with veg, like crudite and hummous. Sweet chili sauce is like pouring toffee on a salad and is junk food really. Eating tuna daily isn't a good idea due to the potential mercury and other toxin contamination and there are lots of types of fish out there with a more beneficial omega 3 content. I'd say you're not getting enough calcium or vitamin D so consider supplementing. Are you eating plenty of green veg at dinner? Also be a bit careful of dried fruit is packed full of sugar, I consider raisins a treat rather than a staple.

Many thanks to you all for your replies - I do appreciate any input.
Crikey its not easy trying to eat healthily:mad:

I know that the chili sauce is not good but I felt that in the scheme of things a little may not do me any harm

Can you give me some suggestions instead of the tuna - thought I was being really good with that one:(

Had swopped iced gems and ww bars for the fruit and nuts so surely this is a big improvement

Will give the veg and hummus a go and will also give the cottage cheese a try

there are no foods that I don't like (apart from red meat and milk) so i will take any recommendations on board:)

I don't know what your options are with the deli but maybe alternate the tuna with chicken pieces (I assume they have that) every second day. Better fish would be salmon, mackeral and sardines. Oh for the dressing an easy way to do that is to keep a jar of your own homemade dressing in the car or drawer at work and that way you can have one with good quality healthy oils and no sugar and minimal salt added. Fruit is definately an improvement on sweets but if you wanted to take it one step further veg would be better.

your new diet sounds a lot better than the old one.. the most important quesiton is - is it working? if it is keep going as you are.. veg are great but fruit is also.. the Apple I eat on the way home in the car suits me perfectly.. I dont fancy bringing vegetables in a container for the journey home! imo just eat the healthiest food you can get your hands on at the time and that fits into your routine :-)

Sapsorrow you must be SO healthy

I am really good some days but I find it so hard other days.
That is why I am trying to change all those little habits this time around.

So, gone are the low point sweet snacks and trying to find the alternatives is proving difficult.

Having the points system so firmly in my head then scares me when I am snacking on nuts as they are so pointy!!
Again many thanks for your help and feel free to give me a typical days food
BTW i am 5'6 and weigh 10.11 stone
Have gone down to 10.1 several times but then my resolve weakens and I jump back up to between 10.10 and 11stone
My body seems happier here but I AM NOT:)

Don't get me wrong you're doing really well, the changes I suggested are only minor (except for the tuna thats quite important) just make small changes at your own pace but don't jepordise it by trying to be too strict with yourself either if it's too impracticle or you're not ready for it. If your weight stablilizes and you find it hard to shift the last few pounds later on you might find cutting down on the fruit and esp the dried fruit helps a bit but be sure and replace it with lots of veg esp green ones.
