...as in the first one? I really like the first one and had a few too many gripes with the second so didn't buy that and want to play the first online but I can't seem to connect to any games

Does this happen a lot with games once a sequel comes out? everyone fecks off to play the sequel online and the first one is gone

I hated the first one to be honest, never got into it.

Really? Ah I thought it was great fun. The use of cover was fantastic, the tactical shooting element of planning on how to clear a room was great, the firefights were exhilarating. It had its downsides definitely like the setting not being utilised - it's in Vegas and there's not one Sinatra song! no licenced venues etc. The story's fairly basic and clichéd. Some of the weapons are crap, sniper rifles seem useless, you can't equip your other teammates.

It's still deadly though. One of my favourite FPS and I dislike Call of Duty4 Modern Warfare2.

I just hated the gameplay compared to COD and the graphics were pretty bad as I played it late enough!

Yeah I suppose if you prefer run and gun like in Call of Duty tactical shooting like in Rainbow Six wouldn't be your cuppa tea. They tried making some of the Rainbow Six games more arcade-style a few years ago which wasn't met with a great response...

I think it was a combination of the gameplay and the terrible graphics really. I just started playing it too late I guess. I can appreciate a certain amount of tactics in games though.

I would also like to give my disapproval for this game, clunky controls, and it was very hard i thought and i don't give up easily at all. I try to finish all my games no matter what and that one will be on the No-No pile forever.

There's still a fair few playing the PC version online.
I play it with my xbox 360 controller
The game has it's faults but overall i'd have to agree with the OP.
you can't skate aroud the place at a constant 25 miles an hour like you can in other FPS and the cover system ensures you get punished for breaking cover without checking your surroundings first.

With regard to it being hard... games used to be a "challenge". When you won then you felt great and a sense of achievement rushed over you at having beaten that boss or whatever. These days games you struggle with are branded "hard" and sh*te. Rainbow Six does have a few bits in it that are frustrating but the whole thing is finish-able on the normal difficulty. There's a greater sense of achievement on "realism" though.

I disagree about the controls being clunky. They'er anything but! I found them very easy to use with the exception of equipping a pistol and silencer.

I just bought it last week (im behind everyone), and i really like it. Im not a huge gamer and its a good challenge for me. Although, It pisses me off sometimes, and i leave it for a few hours, but then come back to it more determined :)

I love the cover and shoot aspect. I dont think the controls are clunky at all
