    Hi Guys,

Not sure if this is the right place but hopefully it is.

I run my own first aid company and i have insurance & offer recognised courses, but i notice some other company's also offer courses which they certify.

I was wondering, legally, can i put together my own courses & give my own certification through my company or is there some hoops i need to jump through in order to be able to do this?

    Cheers
    Adam

Moved from ES to LD as it's likely to get more informed replies here.

Would it not be easier to ask PHECC since they certify the courses?

Does the op intend to run first aid courses or general "safety" modules, fire extinguisher training and the like? These are generally certified in house and are not worth the paper they're written on bar that you are proficient in the subject, devise a worthwhile curriculum and are willing to stand over the quality of your training as opposed to granting certs of attendance. (Certainly not a legal opinion but an observation)

Not a bad idea to get a friend to contact your competitors to evaluate the service they provide on the premise of possibly making a booking.

When it comes to First Aid, the likes of the Heartsaver AED course, CFR or the 3 Day OFA courses are certificates from institutions like The Irish Heart Foundation, PHECC and Fetac.

Theres no reason why you cant teach 1 or 2 day first aid courses, tailored to your client etc and issue a Cert of Attendance, assuming the instructors are already qualified via these organisations.
