Boards.ie is my google, especially when it comes to music and you know the posters and their taste in music. So I'd be interested in a link to a good indie station too. :)

If you like it join the facebook group to keep it going. The new head of the bbc wants to close it down.

Oh yeah remember hearing about that. Radiohead were very complimentary about the station.
Gideon Coe on. There is an 11 on the volume dial here on the bbc music player. Assuming thats in joke re spinal tap :D

Yeah they seem very good. Just reading up on them now. Won two awards last night. Also reading Jarvis Cocker has a show with them. Whats he like?

Only listened to his show a few times i think he is pretty good. Plays a weird mix of music most of the time.. which is what i like.
The best show was Stephen Merchants show. Also check out Adam and Joe's show and Marc Reilly... actually most of the shows are really great... oh yeah and Lauren Laverne my future wife's show is good.
    Some great live sessions also.

Must definitely check out BBC 6 Music. What's Guy Garvey's (Elbow) show like, anyone?

His show is excellent, in fact most shows on the station are pretty damn good. I cant believe some ppl here are only just getting on board with 6 music now. Its defo the best music station around, much better than phantom!!

What an awful shame the BBC have decided to pull the plug on the station. With presenters on board like Jarvis Cocker and Guy Garvey the decision seems pretty extraordinary. I'll be listening to this station as much as I can now before it's gone forever.

The plug is officially pulled yet! Big up turn in numbers listening in the last few months, so it might just be saved.
But I just heard earlier that George Lamb is leaving the station, and I am none too happy about that!!

This one deserves special mention. One of the best music sites around

No big loss there i think. On the other hand they have just recruited Tom Ravenscroft to do a 3 hour show. Looking forward to that as he is John Peel's son.

It's a fantastic radio station, hopefully it will be kept going. Can't believe people are putting it in the bracket as Phantom. Phantom is dire and it's a reflection of the **** quality radio stations we have here that that has become the go to place for alternative music.
