off the pill

    hi ladies, i have come off the pill about 10 months ago and have only had one period since (march), has anyone had any similar probs? i am attending my gp who is arranging a smear test but just wondering if anyone else has had any after effects, thanks

    I didnt have periods for a few months when I came off the injection. And last summer I had a stressful job and was working crazy hours and it stopped then for 2 months. There can be a lot of things which make ur period stop. The best thing is actually to stop worrying! Harder then it sounds I know!!

    Your age and how long you were on the pill for can be a factor but given it's been more then 10 months you should talk to your dr and get her to find out what is going on.

    thanks for the replies. i was on the pill for approx 7/8 years and i am now 28. i am trying not to worry about it just hoping it will start its self soon (even though when it does i will be wishing it away!!). I stopped takin the pill in august, have had one proper period in march and sometimes get the feeling thats its due, slight bloatness & cramps like i would just before myperiod but nothing happens. I am waiting for a letter to come from cervical smear centre and then i have to get the smear done, also waiting on results of blood tests.
