anyway to check the log of print jobs sent to network printer

    I need to know what time a certain item was printed.

    Is there a log file showing the items sent to the printer and with the approximate date and times?

    Try your CUPS page. You can access it from your web browser:

    http://127.0.0.1:631/

    Under the Jobs tab. Click "show completed jobs".

    You also can get it by running the console application and checking for cups directory ( different paths depending on OS ). Look for page_log and you will get all the info you need about your print jobs.
