Shrinking a number of Polo shirts

Right so folks, I'm down 2 stone since christmas and all my Polo shirts are a size or 2 too big for me, especially around the stomach area! You can actually notice in the shirt where my belly made an impression!! Most of them are Abercrombie and American Eagle brands and size XL. Money is tight so I'm gonna have a go at shrinking them rather tham spending a couple of hundred of € on replacing them. They're all 100% cotton

Should I wash them at a high temp then letting them dry naturally or wash c40 degree and dry in the dryer?

Has anyone ever done this? I might try on one or 2 or them to experiment first.

I'd try washing on a high heat first I'd say.

You do know that they'll shrink up too, right? So they might end up being way too short for you.

The 100% cotton ones tend to shrink up as said, very little where you want, a shirt that lies mid-way to the knee could very easily shrink up the the belly button after a few hot washes.

I had work polo shirts here 100% cotton, in order to wash them they had to be put on 50 degree washes to get stains out, wrecked them they faded like mad & shrunk up after just two washes.

Do a test run on 1 first tho just to be safe.
