No previous teaching practice, PGDE applicant

I've been accepted to the PGDE course in NUIM but am finding it really difficult to find a school, I dont have any teaching experience.

Do schools look on it unfavourably when a PGDE student applying to them has no previous teaching experience??? Do most people who are doing the course next year or are currently doing it or did it in previous years have teaching experience before you started the course?

    Thanks

Ah no. I'm sure a few do but just about everyone I know when from college straight to the dip. You just need other things to make you stand out. You must have got good grades to get the course. Put in any sports/musical instruments/languages anything. If you don't have anything interesting right now, you may need it to get a permanent job so it'd be worth your while to get something that makes you stand out.

Didn't think about it until I saw this but if I was going for a job teaching say maths and geography, would it be helpful to have languages so that I could fill in for a day or two for a sick language teacher?
