Okay so I've got my hands on some old tapescripts and tapes from my French teacher but he doesn't have any of the older exam papers. I've the 2009 copy of the papers and they only go back to 1997 or so. Does anyone know where I could get papers from 1985+? I know they're rock hard but I really want to improve my listening comprehension..

Doubt anyone has any old copies lying around at home so can I get them anywhere?

I've been having the same problem with both French and Spanish! The listenings on examinations.ie only have the audio tapes back to 2003. I have to ask my teacher if she has any old tapes, my year head is also a french teacher so I might get her to ask around all the French teachers... I'm sure if you did the same someone would have something? There's a good listening workbook with cds that's about 20 euro that I use, called Ecoutez et Ameliorez-vous, it has 10 sample papers with full transcripts at the back, they're similar to what you'd get in the LC, plus 56 quite difficult individual exercises that are harder than the LC. Hope this helps!

Hi Wayhey, I think the format of the examination changed in the 90s which would explain how hard it is to get your hands on these papers. I think your best bet might be to ask around second hand bookshops, or even look in car-boot sales etc... if you have the time.
On Ebay there are a few listening practice GCSE text/workbooks & tapes/cds which might also be of use.
And I know it's not the same, but watching French TV might be both interesting and beneficial : http://videos.tf1.fr/ .
Good luck with the French !
