playing howth tomorrow, never played it before.

any tips from those of you that have played it?

i play off 19. i'm driving it well lately, mid to long irons so so, but the short game is poor at the moment.

    are the greens fast?

Enjoy the view's. Yes the greens are fast. Keep your driver in the bag
until at least the par 5 7th. Its a quirky course but very enjoyable
and as always in great condition. The 5th is a 90 degree dogleg
up a 45 degree slope. Make sure you get your drive to the corner.
Play conservative golf, keep it out of the heather and you will do fine.
Oh yea.. and bring your billy goat to carry your clubs.

Quirky as mentioned best describes Howth but it's a really fun course to play.

Played there a few times last year during the summer and they were quick. There are a number of brilliant driving holes and chances to make par or birdie are out there if you play smartly. Great views are guaranteed :)

    thanks for the replies gents.

the photos on the website look very nice although the forecast is cloudy for tomorrow.

howth should make a nice change from the parkland courses i'm used to playing, where it's all about length off the tee. i have put an extra few golf balls in the bag just to be safe!

Played it once but watch out for the 9th green very fast.
