Hey we are a Dublin band looking for an experienced manager with useful contacts in the Irish music scene. We are committed, motivated, talented and we won't waste your time. Our style would be essentially pop-rock but with blues, soul and funk elements. Here's some links to our music online...

Our website
http://www.milkthegroup.com
Our myspace
http://www.myspace.com/milkmyspacemusic
Our youtube channel
http://www.youtube.com/milktubemusic

I'll give you some information on what we've done while together;

Gigs:

We formed in September 2009 and have since played most of the usual music venues around Dublin (some we have headlined and others we supported); Whelans, The Village, Eamon Dorans, Bruxelles, Porterhouse, Le Cirk, MB Slatterys, UCD Student Bar. We also played to a 700+ crowd at a University College Cork ball in February and have been booked for Phantom FM's First Friday in the Academy on August 6th and a number of festivals this summer, Dublin City Soul Festival, Cavan Summer Festival and Kinsale Arts Week.

Media:

We did a few radio slots at very minor stations like Near FM, Phoneix FM, Real Radio 100.3 FM and we made the shortlist for Most Promising New Artist at the Meteor Awards (we did not make the nominees however).

Internet Promotion:

We have been reasonably successful in this area. Our youtube videos have collectively garnered over 30,000 views and have recieved an overwhelmingly positive response. Our myspace has over 40,000 views.

Why we need your help?

We have no problem getting gigs but we do have a problem getting GOOD gigs ie. gigs in venues that aren't 'pay to play' (in other words playing in front of a load of your friends while some publican makes a fortune off them). We need to get more gigs at venues, events and festivals where there is an inbuilt crowd and support slots with major Irish acts or international acts.
Radio exposure is another area we need help in.

If you are interested please PM, Cheers!

Guys, you seem to be lacking a product; an album. What else are you offering if you don't have something to push? Your life-changing stage show?

It's a bit like a first-time author who visits places to give readings of some 'work in progess' chapters but hasn't yet released the book.

I understand if you're still writing material and are just gigging to test the waters but without an album, that's as far as your band will get with playing live.

Think about your competition who DO have albums to push.

Get the finger out. :p

Nice website.

I agree with Waking Dreams...(wonder what he works at ....mmmm) But Im just wondering have you thought of doing the Covers scene for a while to get the name around and actually get PAID for gigs. We are in the same boat as you, and also looking for management, but we are using the covers gigs to inwardly invest in the band in order to fund the release of an Album next year. Plus its one way of tightening the band as well as doing 70% covers and 30% original

Oh, and yes, nice website. Easy to get around.

ive heard of milk already - nice site and nice sounds. I wouldnt be rushing to get a manager though. try working without one until theres money being made and you're too busy to self manage. then look for one. thats all 'imo'.

Well we are currently halfway through recording an EP so this would be our 'product'. I couldn't see us recording an album for a year or two we just don't have the money at the moment (for a top studio that will do us justice anyway). We already have played lots of 'cover band gigs' and will continue to do those gigs to make money but there is so much expenses involved with a band; photo shoot, myspace design, website, equipment, P.A etc. For this reason things can move quite slowly. We've long accepted that there is no money to be made in original music in Ireland (apart from 'pay to play' but I think charging your friends to come see you play in a venue that would otherwise be empty is a really exploitative setup. You never play to strangers and after a couple of times doing this the only people who really win are the publicans). Like any band I've talked to we're happy just to break even...
