What the point in playing it.

9 teams battle it out for a place in the final where they will meet antrim and more than likly get beaten.

Why dont Antrim resign from this competition and fully consintrate on the Leinster championship. That would give the other 8 counites (& London) in Ulster more incentive to win the champioship instead of knowing that they will lose the final to a much stronger antrim team.

A Connacht hurling championship would also be a good idea. Take Galway out of it cause there in Leinster and are too strong for the other connacht counties Mayo/Leitrim/Sligo and Roscommon. It would only be 3 games. 2 semi finals and a final. It would boost the confidence of the players in the lower hurling connacht counties and would give them a Provential championship medal.

If it promotes hurling in weaker counties then it has my full backing

Antrim have every right to play in it in my opinion even if it does make it predictable. It gives all Ulster counties a meaningful (from their perspective; which is the most important thing) competition to participate in instead of a watered down Antrimless competition which would receive no publicity at all.

So, to re-cap, a Ulster hurling championship is a bad idea, but a Connacht one would be a good idea?

Not saying the Ulster championship is a bad idea, its just would be better without Antrim making it more compeditve.

So would a connacht championship without Galway.
