Im doing a pre test in the morning and i am just wondering is it designed to be the same as the test. Will you be asked questions on signs and rules of the road and to do the checks under the bonnet? Or will it just be going through different routes, turnabout and reverse around the corner?

The pretest I had was with my instructor, he went through the bonnet questions and did the turnabout/reversing (a couple of times until perfect!) along with driving a route. My pretest was an hour so it gave me plenty of time to go over things, where as in the test its like 40mins for everything...

A pre-test will consist of an hour long sessions whereby your instructor will only give you directions, don't chat to him/her unless they converse with you yourself. They'll have a mock test sheet on which they'll mark you for your faults, they'll go through all standard procedure minus the rules of the road if they don't think time is of the essence, although they might ask a few questions while you're in the car before you start driving. At the end of it, they'll ask you to pop your bonnet and answer relevant questions, although this could be done at the very beginning.

    Well, that's what I had anyway :P

Tallaght routes are very easy as I've told you before OP, the estates you'll be brought into are perfect, the roads are nice and wide, just take your time, observe everything and go pass! :D

Best of luck in the morning :]
