    Hey,

searched the forum and could not find any answer to this question sorry if its been asked before! I'm getting my first car tmrw a VW polo 2000, however this is a temporary car till my brother who is a car dealer finds me a better car

So I will have this car for about 2-3 weeks the problem with this car is that it has no power steering, so novice question how much does this effect the car? Will i find it impossible to drive this?I need to drive asap as I start a new job on wed

My other option is to just go buy a corsa but I really want to wait and find a decent polo as I like them!

Unless you're as weak as a newborn puppy it won't be a problem. Try to do your steering while you're moving, no matter how slow, it makes it easier.

Power steering simply takes some of the physical effort out of turning the steering wheel. Basically it makes life easier for the driver, but is only significant for low speed manouvres like parking.

If this is your first car then what you have never had you won't miss, particularly if you only have to cope without it for a few weeks

haha I'm fairly strong, I think I'm just comparing this to my friends car who has an old mini with no power steering and I use to see her struggle to move the car at all....

The gf learned to drive in a car with no power steering. She got on fine and she's better than her dad who learned in a car with power steering but ended up buying a car with no power steering, he is not used to it.

There's not much to it. Try to move while turning it will make it easier.

You won't notice it much, only when parking or manovering tight spaces. But you'll have arms like popeye :pac:.
