    Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has played through one of these amps and has an opinion on them? I've read a lot about them and am considering getting one but I cant find any in the country to actually play beforehand!

So does anyone on here have one? how good are they? Anyone selling one? ;)

Never heard(or read) a bad thing about the Matchless DC30 but never heard one either.
Not sure if they still make them but there is one on Ebay for $9999

The Matchless stuff is terrific. Should be able to pick a new one up around £3800 sterling. As far as I know, no dealer in Ireland and only one in the UK. World Guitars in Gloucestershire I believe

Yup I saw both that astronomically priced amp on ebay and found the sole UK dealers site too.
Its mad because everyone is saying they're brilliant amps but I'd be hard pressed to spend the bones of €4000 on an amp I've never played!

...still, I'm having a hard time keeping it off my mind :D

They started off as high end clones of the Vox AC30, and I believe they still are quite similar.

I would not be shelling out €3k+ on an amp that I hadn't heard or played.

Do you have a specific reason for wanting one? It's obviously not a specific tone that you're after...

Well actually it's because I was playing through an old 70's AC30 that was left at my house for a while. It sounded unbelievable but it kept breaking down until it finally bit the bullet altogether.

I tried a few of the newer models but they werent the same at all. I then found out that the DC30's were modelled off of the old AC30's but sturdier built so I got interested...

All the reviews are glowing but I cant find any to play to see if it really is what its cracked up to be!

Not sure if €3k+ is worth the leap of faith

Oooooo... Now that's itnteresting... Shame I cant play it either :o
Another amp for me to drool over..

Out of interest, would anyone buy an amp that expensive without playing it based solely on the amp it's supposed to sound like? Like I'd love a proper vintage AC30, if I had the money I'd definitely consider this amp over it. But I've never been in the position to buy a 'proper' amp. Opinions?
