I'm sorry to see it go. The last season wasn't the best but it the show still had potential.

I'm glad to see it go really, it was a show that I just kept watching in the hopes that it would return to the former glory of season one.
Here's hoping that they wrap things up nicely and have another episode along the lines of "5 years gone", but I'm not going to be holding my breath!

Damn straight, unfortunately. A great idea and a great season after which hollywood execs clearly got their brain-slugs around it; killing it.

That is incorrect, Season 4 (Volume 5) is to be the last shown on TV as a series.
    Deadline.com reported on Friday:
[...] NBC sources now tell me that the network is "working on a way to wrap up the show. That will be determined after the upfront." Other insiders explain to me that NBC will soon commit to that 2-hour or 4-hour special event in midseason to reward Heroes fans.

It will definitely not be a shortened 13 episode season - this was perhaps one of the 3 options available to NBC before they announced the show's cancellation.
The chances of acutally getting this 2 to 4 hour "event" is slim to none. How many other shows have they (and others) promised this type of wrap-up for? What percent of those actually happened?

The Heroes crew must have seen this coming, and I think the ambiguity of not knowing how the regular people react is a better ending to the show than dragging it out and saying everything is ****e or everything is fantastic.

I'm not at all surprised it was cancelled and it really had gotten terrible, but I'll still miss this show.

not suprised to see it go and to be honest it was probably time it went as the storylines were going downhill fast

The whole show went to pot after season 1, season 2 wasn't too bad but still had no direction and the rest of the seasons were only average.I still have about 6 episodes to watch I just got pissed off the show last season.

    Reasons for the decline?
    Gaping huge plot holes
A time line that never really made sense
Orientating the whole show around Claire as being a super hero where as she just should of been just a cheerleader
Never been able to have a decent final episode in a season.
    Waste of Peters Powers.
    Bad writing
    Matt Parkman
I could go on, but this is truly is a show that jumped the shark.

Very confusing plot holes and unfinished stories, blame it on poor quality writers or the strike, I hope they do tie up the loose ends with a movie, online mini series or a final run though,It will be one hell of a train wreck though:D

Apparently a two hour TV-movie to wrap the show up is looking... not likely exactly but let's say.... not too unlikely.... Hopefully they'll do it, restore Peter's powers and Sylar's evil ways and just have them kick the shít out of each other for 2 hours. :P

There's just far too many episodes in some of these programmes and the writers' ideas are stretched out. I don't think heroes deserves a full season, but shows like this should be cut down to a few episodes to see if they can redeem themselves.

I always enjoyed Heroes and it will be missed.

Hopefully they will wrap up the unfinished storylines in some way or another

To be honest I got a lot of enjoyment out of the Heroes show over the last few years. But now I would be happy for them to leave it as it is. I have gotten over the plot holes at this stage and I like the way the last season ended. I'm just happy that we haven't been left in a Sarah Connors Chronicles situation. I loved that show..... couldn't wait to see what happened next..... probably never will

Series 1, brilliant and one of the best and most original scifi shows for a long time - could not wait for next episode. Only flaw was that I felt they could have done it in maybe 16 episodes as some were just plain stupid e.g. the one where the whole episode was in the future and had no bearing on prior or subsequent episodes.

Series 2, OMG! - watched it but struggled to keep the interest.

Series 3, it gets worse - recorded episodes as could not bring myself to watch them "live", quite a few I just skipped through as they beggared belief.

Series 4, the pits and I wondered why they had bothered.

But, not many series really sparkle after about season 2 anyway - I guess they fire most of their bullets in season 1 in order to get a season 2!

5 Years Gone was one of the best episodes, if not THE best. It served as motivation for Hiro in his struggle with his conscience over possibly killing Sylar. That was made pretty much moot though by the writers' wussing out and having Sylar survive....

it was a very good show at the start, but by season 3 it looked as if the writers had lost the plot a bit and were just writing things in fot the fun of it. agree that the last episode should be about a fully powered peter and sylar just kicking the absolute tar out of each other. and not looking constipated when they use thier powers either.

After the brilliant first series, that show went straight down the toilet. It was worse than WWE for changing good guys into baddies each week and vice versa.

It seems to happen alot in US series. They have a great idea and get it on air and maybe at the start the writers have a good idea of how it will start and finish. However due to the success (money talks) they need to extend for more and more series with a subsequent drop in quality as they try to think of new story lines that were never considered at the concept stage. Thinking of Lost for example that should have been wrapped up by the end of season 2. Prison Break is another good example that should never have gone more than one series. Gutted about Heroes. Was a great idea, had great characters and good actors however 2 series would have done it justice and made it memorable. Another great idea ruined by the money men :(
