    Hi All,

I am a small time gambler (tiny in fact), I just bet on the football coupons every week with Paddy Power. I noticed a Weekend Quickslip and I was wondering how this works (Quickslip for Dummies). I know about the match selection and the odds but what way does the Bet Types work, for example if I pick 8 matches and pick a 6 fold bet, does this mean I could win some money if I only got 6 right and I win nothing if I got 5 right? Any help would be much appreciated.

In that type of bet you need all your picks to win. Those type of bets are what bookies make a lot of money from because all they need is for one result not to go in your favor and they win. You could pick 20 and get 19 right and doesn't make a difference. Unless you are doing a lucky 15, doubles or trebles which create different permutations and enhance the chance of you getting a return. But they are more expensive than a straight 5,6,7 fold or accumulator as they are also called. Betting more money on single events is usually more profitable in the long run.

Yes you are correct but gets more complicated when you have 7 winners out of eight and you have backed sixfolds as you will be getting paid on all possible six selection accumulators that have won

example - your selections 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 win 8 lose

you get paid on 6 team accums as follows
    1,2,3,4,5,6 win
    2,3,4,5,6,7 win
    1,3,4,5,6,7 win
    1,2,4,5,6,7 win
    1,2,3,5,6,7 win
    1,2,3,4,6,7 win
    1,2,3,4,5,7 win

Any possible six team accum with your 8th selection will be a loss
this is my understanding off it anyway
