hey, there are several companies like James Villas out there. Two other big onces are Meon and Style.

Booking villa accommodation can be quite expensive, but then you have to take into consideration the fact of all the extras you get that you wouldn't get with a hotel or packaged apartment complex.

Why not consider booking directly with an Owner, there are loads of site out there. The big 3 are owners direct, holiday lettings and holiday rentals. However as said they can still be expensive.

I own and operate a holiday rental site myself, but we do it a bit different. We run auctions on the holiday rental listings, which gives you the opportunity to pick the price you want to pay. We find we have lots of great offers and last minute deals that will see you save money so please feel free to check us out as well Bidabooking.com :)

It's one of the obvious questions - Was I conned? I have never heard of anybody being conned though, but the thought is always there.

I reckon before you pay over any money you speak to the owner of the the holiday home by phone or to one of the people who run the website.

Dont underestimate the small ads in Irish papers either. Bargains are there to be picked up. Holiday home owners would prefer to have somebody renting cheaply than a vacant apartment.

Personally I have used http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/ mentioned by a previous poster. I think it's its under the same umbrella as owners Direct. You book directly with the owner contacting them via e-mail or phone. It might be wise to avoid booking a new property which does not have any reviews if you are not confident about booking something. The ones with plenty of reviews ( they have usually been longer on the site) may be the ones to look at.
If you book something you have a short window to register your booking with holiday rentals. This is insurance in case anything goes wrong with your booking. I'm sure it's the same with owners direct.
