    Hmmmm.....
People have been found guilty of treason and hanged for a lot less.

I would agree that he should spend the rest of his days in prison, but we are a civilised country, so let him live, I suppose.:o

I can't think of a single person who has faith in our regulations and procedures being adequate to prevent bad things happening re Irish finance.

Or anyone who has faith in the law subsequently punishing those who do such things. Overall that's not a great place to be. imo.

    WTF?!

Look, the guy isnt my favourite person in the world but threatening anyone is
    a. Illegal
    b. Dumb as a bag of bricks.

Threatening someone on here adds a "C." of having me find you and make your life *awful*. And its not hard, ask our hacker. :)

Dont anyone be that dumb here.

Threatening a human life over money is idiotic. Especially coming from groups that name themselves things like "People before Profit".... perhaps we should have a new group named... "but Revenge before People" ???

Now hang on. It was the people who bailed him out (at no cost to themselves). Don't for one second believe that the bail out was justified either, Anglo didn't need to have the guarantees applied to it. Perhaps deposit only guarantees up to a certain value, for a certain time.

There was a guy from the press watchdog on Newstalk the day after that was printed and he actually said he didn't see anything wrong with it because 'it captured the sentiment of Irish people'

I don't know what's worse, the fact they ran that headline or the fact that the people responsible for regulating it assumes everyone in the country is vying for blood

That's funny because it mentions the possibility of a "regulator" doing Seanie Fitz and Fingers a favour.......

    .....oh, hang on.......

Didn't the Daily Star run a headline a while back about Seannie or Fingleton inciting death? The headline was something like, "Take him out and shoot him."
Inremember reading it and thinking how irresponsible a headline it was.

Absolute guttersnipe journalism. Dangerous and completely out of order.

It is true though isnt it? Those "horrible men" had a huge part to play in the reckless lending culture of Ireland, if there were decent financial laws in the country they would be locked up. I could quote a good few people in this thread who are quick to jump on the tabloids (as scummy as they are) and forgetting to jump on the problem after bitching about them in previous threads.

There's a difference between criticising them & the events that led us here and threatening them with death

and there's a lot of idiots that can't differentiate

I hear ya, death threats are unbecoming. However, I was referring to the tabloid headline, so before you go calling people idiots, have a nice drink of shut the **** up and read the post again. Thanks.

Can't say I approve of the death threat.

Abuse and open contempt are ok though, and should continue for the rest of their lives, in the absence of stiff legal penalties. It's a sad day that you have to type that, but thats the country we're in.

No one should forget the other board members of Anglo, or the various parties at IL&P either.

Everyone chill the f*ck out.... (must be the lack of headshops.... oh no, now I've done it, critical thread overload imminent!! :) )

Unless we are suspending the rule of law (in which case I am coming round to a few of your houses with a golf club, Jay and Silent Bob style), its still murder. Its also an offence to *threaten* someone so, bear that in mind cos if they ask I will narq you to cops so fast your router will reset. :)
