Don't see it mentioned anywhere on here.

It's going to be held at my home club, Seapoint, this year.

Harrington will not be playing, sadly.

The event is sponsored by Ladbrokes.

our golf society had actually booked captains day in seapoint for that same day, try to come to some sort of aggrement to arrange it for the week before now. on the bright side playing seapoint the week before a major event like that can only mean the course will be in imaculate condition.

saying that I played it yesterday and it was in great condition anyway

Unfortunate for you, hope it gets resolved.

It's in immaculate condition 24/7, 365 days a year. After the cold snap, artic conditions even, that we had over the xmas period the course played fantastic. It was actually quite unbelievable.

It's a huge capture for the north-east in general and although Harrington is not going to play it should boost golf further in the region and hopefully the weather will be kind.

    Enjoy your society day out.

Great to see the high standards of posting being upheld tonight.

Seapoint is good course and a good test off the back plates. Can see some of those boys ripping it up though, last day I played it Gary Cullen shot -5 in a stiff breeze!

Played it last year, just in some team thing, so more than likely it was playing easier than normal. The first few holes are parkland style and the back 9 really comes into its own, links style.

If you live on the Northside of Dublin its probably the best value links course around, opens for €25, better value than Portmarnock links, albeit a longer drive.

I can sign a four-ball in for €25 a head so if anyone is interested anytime just let me know.

You can also pick up a tee time now and again on teetimes.ie from about €14-€17.

Might take you up on that!
