Can anyone tell me the difference between the Opel Vivario , Nissan Primaster and the Renault traffic is? The shapes seems similar are the engine the same etc?

Which is the least likely to give trouble? Best value for money?

This is the height of the differences between them....

After that the're the very same. Gearboxes blow up in pre 05 models , after that they are a good aul van. Watch out for dicky injectors though ;)

the only difference will be the garage you go to keep getting the sh1te box fixed.

Do yourself a favor, buy a transit.

    Bit harsh!;)

They aint a bad van, little loosely put together on the interior, but we have a fleet of about 9 and a few problems but none that didn't involve normal consumables in a van. I mean clutches after about 100k, timing belts, wheel bushings.

Other then that they've never given a lot of trouble.

Sure the newer transits are good never liked driving the older model.

But to the OP question all the same only difference the dash in the opel is slightly different.

Unfortunately, the box is still blowing up on the 07 & 08 models. We've roughly 25 of the damn things. One currently in Airside with 80,000km on the clock which needs a new box. Renault have offered 50% of the part as goodwill

I don't know what Nissan are like for out of warranty claims, but Opel are very good so I'd sway towards the Opel. At least when it breaks down (and it will), it will cost you less to fix in the Opel dealership than the Renault dealership.

I have owned both, the the renault was the worst van I ever had, endless expensive problems. Bought a transit after that, only replaced front wheel bearings so far, 100k+ miles

And the Transit is rubbish in the ADAC breakdown stats. Here's what they've listed as the main problems, this was (badly) translated from German using babelfish

    Starter defectively (Diesels until 2007)
    Cooling hose leaky (2003)
    Generator defectively (until 2007)
Engine defectively (Diesels 2004 to 2007)
Engine management disturbed (Diesels 2006 to 2008)
    Injection pump defectively (particularly 2006)
    Turbo-hose draws (starting from 2006, extremely 2009)
Recycling of exhaust gases defectively (Diesels 2006 /2007)
Going away barrier defectively (particularly 2008)
    Schaltgestänge put out (particularly 2007)

Also I've seen a few rusty Transits as new as 04 and 05 - surface rust on arches, sills and bottom of doors, only a matter of time before it starts to pit or hole the metal. Heaps of sh1t.

That's back when the transit was a proper van though.

Since the latest model was brought in towards the end of 06, they are nowhere near as reliable as they used to be.

+1. I owned a Vivaro, gearbox gave up the ghost @ 80k miles, €2.5k to fix. NEVER AGAIN.

    OP, avoid at all costs.
