Fox's buddy-cop show The Good Guys premieres next Wednesday (May 19 at 8/7c).
Created by Burn Notice's Matt Nix, the show stars Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) as Dan Stark, a veteran detective whose better — and sober — days are behind him. Dan's partner, Detective Jack Bailey (Mad Men's Colin Hanks), is an ambitious, by-the-book newbie who's not terribly fond of Stark's old-school policing. The pair works the less-than-thrilling Property Crimes Division beat.
Jack vents his frustration with Dan to his only ally: assistant disctrict attorney Liz Traynor (Jenny Wade), a former flame who Jack isn't completely over. Standing between Jack and his real detective work is Lt. Ana Ruiz (Diana Maria Riva), who makes it her goal to keep them sniffing out petty crimes.

"The Good Guys is an American comedy-drama series about an old-school cop and a modern-day detective that is scheduled to premiere with a preview episode on Fox on May 19, 2010, and resume on June 7. The series stars Bradley Whitford as Dan Stark, a former big-shot detective with the Dallas Police Department, and Colin Hanks as Jack Bailey, a young, ambitious, by-the-book detective who has been assigned as Dan’s partner because of his snarky attitude."

    Anyone seen the pilot?, opinions?

I like Bradley Whitford.. not so much Colin Hanks. But heard this was decent.. nothing special but worth a watch!

Will give it a look over the weekend!

    Ho..hum

Supposed to be a quirky comedy with a little drama but I don't think I'll be watching anymore episodes. Not good enough to deserve a full review though 37" in we get AC/DC "Thunderstruck' which was pretty cool.

I watch Ep. 3 - tryna mix comedy with a buddy cop theme....the laughs fell flat, the script was poor, the Guy Ritchie style of jumping back and fourth in time "30 mins ago etc." was distracting and added nothing.

Withford's character was more annoying then funny, Colin Hanks is very bland...in fact the show reminds me ALOT of the 1987 remake of Dragnet.....which also sucked.

I'll pass on this show in future.

Especially if they were building it up for a 9pm Friday night slot, it doesn't stand a shot in hell.

Shame, it's actually a really good show!

Couldn't find any mention of this new show, it's absolutely brilliant and one of the best comedies going at the moment.

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1567254/

The show always runs backwards starting on a high and then flipping back and forward to explain what's going on.

Kinda like this show - like a bad 80s buddy-cop movie every week - in a good way.

Music is great. No real hint of a 'moral message' that they are so fond of shoe-horning into their TV shows over in the States. Could be great if they dialled up the grit in it a bit, but it's a Network TV show so it's always going to pull its punches.

Hope it makes it to double digits in episode count - but I wouldn't be surprised if it's cancelled.

P.S. it has Jenny Wade in it.... doing a very strange accent... so yay!

Just started watching Th Good Guys recently, i think it's excellent. Detective Dan Stark is just a brilliant character, living in the past and wanting to bust punks while going against the protocol.
I also love his battles with the computer machines :D

The whole will he/wont he thing with the DA is a bit annoying, but then Stark pops in to make light of the situation and makes it all better.

Looking forward to seeing more of this one

Just watched the first episode... it's ok. Jenny Wade is a fox, so might stick this out a few episodes.

The good news is that her lady suits get progressively tighter every episode.

Most recent episode was brilliant, Silvio in his manny-panties was hilarious.

Fox is reportedly planning to make changes to cop comedy-drama The Good Guys.
Deadline reports that the network is keen to increase the show's female audience and will introduce a new female character - a young crime scene investigator - in forthcoming episodes.
The programme will also include a greater focus on the romantic relationships of its characters.
Actor RonReaco Lee, who previously guest starred in three episodes as bumbling criminal informant Julius, has also been promoted to a recurring role.
Fox previously commissioned 20 episodes of the series. Nine have been broadcast so far, with the remaining 11 scheduled to air in the autumn.

In fairness I enjoy it a bit. Nothing too serious about it, just simple formulaic fun.
