Found this band on Last.FM, they're seriously something else, I don't say that about many bands, give them a listen, my favorite song so far is this one, thank me later ;)

That album is one of my favourite debut albums of all time. I'm not sure if they're still going, i'd doubt it. They went off the radar and i'm struggling to remember if they released a third album.

Their second album was nowhere near as good as the debut, but even if that first album is all they left us with, it would still be a quality legacy.

I'd really recommend it to everybody.

I saw them twice, in the Temple Bar Music Centre and then later in the Ambassador. They were a brilliant, really energetic live act.

I'm disappointed they never kicked on from that debut.

According to Wikipedia they're making a Fourth Album, "Strength in Numbers" is their Third

That's right actually. I have that album an all!!

It does goes to show the impact the third album had on me that i can't bloody remember getting it! They'll never match that debut.

Have you heard the album or just that song?

Really loved their debut, the 2nd album (can't even remember the name) had no impression on me at all. They were from Leeds and I remember one review (probably a lazy NME journalist) saying the album sounded like what the Stone Roses Second Coming should have sounded like.

Oh and this was their breakthrough single from back in the day...quality

Yeah just listened to the whole thing there awhile ago. Was just completely blown away, I had to listen to it twice. Then halfway through the first song, I thought it would be better to let the first listen sink in first before a second. It seriously is a magical experience listening to it the first time.

Been listening to them since their debut nearly a decade ago at this stage and they're very much underrated.

'Strength In Numbers' was a real return to form and I finally got to see them live last year.

'The People' is their best tune imo.

Bit of a late sixties/early seventies feel to this band. Influences from what i can make out from those two tracks would be early fleetwood mac and Led Zeppelin. Say they would fare well on the festival circuit but wouldn't be mad on them overall.

The Music are one of my favourite bands! I've been a fan for ages, probably since they released the first album. I can't believe that was released in 2002!!

The first album is truely awesome. For those of you who own their other albums, go and listen to them again. I wasn't mad on them when they were first released but once you get into them you realise how good they are. Some amazing songs from the 2nd two albums include:

    Welcome to the North
    The Spike
    Drugs
One Way In, No Way Out (an absolute belter of a song - do yourself a favour, go listen to it now!)

I've never seen them live for some reason. I'm usually on the ball when it comes to gig announcments, but somehow i've missed all their gigs here.

I'm glad to see they're still together and working on new material. They should be huge, but at the same time I'm happy they havent become too popular and over-played.

I won't miss their next gig!

Yeah, they played oxegen a couple years ago. It was awesome. Don't think they've played over here apart from that.

They did release a third album. It was had a kind of dance background to it. Not as good as the others. Great band and the words to their songs are at times nearly inaudible

Their music should be played in nightclubs , one just has to dance to it.

'Open Your Mind' is an epic song

Always said that myself, especially 'the people' and 'the dance'.

That first album is one of my favourites. Not a darling of the the critics, but I think they're massively underrated.

They are ridiculously underrated. Seen them live a couple of times and they just make you want to dance all over the place, and I am not a big dancer!

Their last album was quite good, probably on par with the second. The first album is excellent, seriously recommend anyone who hasn't listened to it to do so. If you get a chance to see them live, don't pass it up.

They are a classic example of a band who don't get media recognition so people just don't bother listening despite the fact if one of the songs became a radio hit, those same people would go on about how amazing they are. I like that they are a little underground gem but they deserve some commercial success and recognition.

I had their first album and funnily enough only found it again a few days ago.

I used to get the piss taken out of me by my friends for listening to them and I never understood why

Yep, that sound like your typical Irish music listener alright, anything outside the box and it's dismissed. Now if they were on some show called 'Band Factor', you would of been alright.

I'm actually proposing a reality TV show about boards at the moment. Gonna call it 'Banned Factor'.

That would be a fantastic idea, the after hours piece would receive huge numbers of viewers!

Listened to the 2nd album when it came out and loved it. Welcome to the North was a blinding opener and a great driving song :)

are the first and third albums as good?

I personally think the 1st album is the best. The third album is very love or hate in my opinion but if you enjoyed the second, you'd probably enjoy the 3rd. Can't do any harm to give them a go. They do have a fourth coming out soon also.
