Speaking of storing people's recordings forever - A funny story

Years ago I worked for at Ardent Studios in Memphis. Long Story in and of itself.

A friend an I were poking through their tape storage area and found the original masters to R.E.M. - Green(!) and we thought (but didn't do obviously) that it would be hilarious to pull up the sessions and add shredding guitar to all the songs, so that, 50 years from now, when all involved are long dead and they went to remaster it, they'd find all of this ridiculous guitar and just assume it was recorded and never used.

    I can still picture it:

R.E.M. -Green (75th Anniversary Shredder Edition)

Anyway - Just thought a few would think that was funny.

We did similar at an SSL day in Westland Studio a couple of years ago.

SSL's party piece was they had the multi to Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer which we played in the studio.

A fabulous guitar player from Galway called John Colohan then played inappropriate improbable blues guitar from one end of the tune to the other

    Oh, how we laughed .......
