It seems that in Thailand the government have decided to rid themselves of protesters including a general, by more aggressive means.
Warnings were put out that snipers were being placed around protester zones and in the last few hours, they went to work!

One protesting general while talking to a New York Times reporter was taken out with a head shot. As yet the government has said nothing!

Reports coming in of a government statement reading "lol pwnd"

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

When the bullet struck him General Khattiya was inside the barricades, facing a road, overpass and a business district with several tall buildings. Wearing his usual camouflage uniform,

Not a very good camouflage uniform then?!!

I'm all for free speech but if the guy knew about the snipers in advance, wtf was he doing there.

Still no excuse for murder, mind

Standing up peacefully in the name of a desired protest for better democracy (beside just talking to a reporter at the time) apparently.

I'm absolutely not condoning it and I agree with the importance of resistance to oppression in any democracy, and the ability to speak freely......

Is there any international pressure being put on Thailand for this type of incident? Are they notorious for it?

I think the rest of our glorious world leaders will/are keeping stum about the whole thing.
Self-interests in the country and all that. :(

Sure you don't like journalists? ;)
Three foreign journalists have been shot during protests in Bangkok, according to Sky sources.

Local journalist Andrew Chant has told Sky News trouble is escalating between the army and Red Shirts in the Thai capital.
"There is an uneasy calm in the area that had the violent protest," he said.
"The army are trying to reach an intersection of the motorway to seal it off."
"If they manage that the protesters will be contained. This is the final battle for control of the centre of Bangkok."
There have been conflicting reports on whether three or four journalists have been shot in the Thai capital.
But France 24 has confirmed on their website that one of their journalists Nelson Rand has been shot in the leg and taken to hospital.
