Question about Lost survivors

Hello all,

I'm a huge fan of lost and have followed it all the way through, but occasionally now and then I completely forget a portion of the story. And there's one that, albeit probably really obvious, has been really bugging me. That is, the original 815 survivors are now whittled down to the core named, big-star members, none of the background randomers are left. What happened to them? I know Rose and Bernard are living out their lives in some random time period. Were the rest killed by the flaming arrows on the beach? There were originally over 40 living out their lives on the beach as I recall, and certainly plenty were still alive when they climbed to the radio tower in order to contact the boat. Between then, and season 6, most of them disappeared.

I know there's a clear reason for this, I just can't remember!

Ye - they all got killed off as they served their purpose both on the island and as characters.

There were those who got the flaming arrows (R.I.P. Frogurt) and I'm guessing more were killed off when Locke/MiB went on a killing spree inside the Temple.

So either they're still stranded back in some random time period, held captive by the Others after the flaming arrow attack, or have they time-jumped back to 2007 and are wanderoung around the island? What bugs me is that they just haven't been kept track of, for the last season, maybe two seasons, it's just been the prominent characters jumping through time, between random jumps and nuke-created jumps. Where have all these other people got to?? If Rose and Bernard ended up in 1977, built their own cabin, looked after Vincent etc., did other randomers end up in similar situations?

As far as I can see nearly everyone bar the main characters are gone. Did all the poeple with Flocke get killed during the mortar attack on the beach?

I can't let go of this though, I'm a dog with a bone. As far as I can see, the entirety of the 815 survivors have now been stripped down to

Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sawyer, Rose and Bernard

Does anyone else think that's a bit harsh? There were all these other crowds of people to which Jack gave speeches too (Live together, die alone etc.). He led them, sometimes Locke led them, either way they looked to these core members for guidance, and for what... only to have all of them be killed off randomly by flaming arrows, mortars, etc.? Having spent several seasons building up a mini-community with beach huts and all sorts of cool stuff?

Didnt some go to the freighter before it exploded? 20/30 of them could easily have been taken out with that, time travel and the arrows. I dont really care about them look what happened when the writers addressed this issue in season 3-Nikki and Paulo
