3.30 Update or broken blue ray disk reader?

    My playstation has started freezing. Its a fat 40G.

    It worked fine until the 3.30 update and then game started freezing when I play them for 20-45 mins. I decided to format my hard drive but I still have the same problem. Worse still I can't even install Batman Arkham Asylum anymore because it just hangs at the installing data window.

    Now it sounds like a broken blue ray reader but then I found this

    and others like it. Any ideas? Anybody else having these problems?

    My mate JD has the same problem(he actually described it the same way, weird!!!), he rang Sony and they denied any problems with the 3.30 update but Sony wouldn't admit to such a thing anyway
