Psychoactive reaction to Product sold in 'pub shop'

    Hi Guys,

I was watching TV the other nite and saw an ad for the GAA, they were sponsored by a beverage called Guinness, I think it must be an energy drink from what I saw on the ad, So I decided to head to the local 'pub shop' as they are locally known and I had a number of Guinness', I felt a bit strange, I started to have feelings of relaxation and cheerfulness, later that evening I started to experience blurred vision and coordination problems. I then started to have irrational and slightly violent thoughts towards a building across the road called 'St Luke's' and finally i got violently sick.

I didn't sleep very well that night, and woke up feeling terrible the following day, depressed and ill.

My question is should I report this establishment to the Gardai under the new law (psychoactive substances law) introduced by Minister Ahern?

Leave out the word Guinnness and drink, then yes.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Go on and complain. You can p1ss them off off well and good. That'll learn 'em.

Yep. That law is silly. Well observed and delightfully packaged. Kudos on your observational skills.

Seiously though, you shouldn't be watching tv in the first place, it's bad for you.

Absolutely. You need to report this to the gardai immediatly, quoting the new legislation as your point of concern. Make sure they investigate your complaint, after all, these substances are banned.

I see that Homeopathic shops, Chinese Herbalist's, vitamin shops, coffee shops and a pub or 2 are still open. Has anyone got a phone number to contact Pat Carey.

As you know, we're all here at AH just to have a good time and hook up with sexy women. So there no room for bad feelings here. Please accept my sincere apologies. If we're ever in the same pub shop I'll buy you a hit as a token of my contrition.

No, drinking is much more manly than sniffing some dodgy chemical sold from some dive of a head shop. I will never understand people wanting crap from a head shop when they can just drink instead.

Where did I say anything about kicking the s**te out of anybody and how do I know that the now illegal highs don't cause even worse behavior than drink.

Op. Are you sure that iv was the guinness causing there synthoms. You should go back to the pub shop and try some other products to see the effects there have on you. I would recommend you do this every night until you tried everything including the top shelf then make your judgement

We need to ban that stuff. Its a disgrace that you can just walk into your local "pub shop" and buy as much as you want. It ruins lifes, makes people act stupid and very harmful. Even young people are taking it and we need to stop that. BAN BAN BAN!!

Yes it is, so is nicotine, but it is caffeine which is the most widely abused/used recreational psychoactive drug. I know people who get irate when they are told they are users of psychoactive drugs. I have never met a person who does not use psychoactives.

    How do you know?

    Have you done a survey?

Being drunk is passably bearable for 20 minutes. I wouldn't put it into my top 10 favourite recreationals. (Can't even call it a 'high' really)

I can say for my group of about 20 friends I go out with regularly that drink is all any of are interested in. Also the packed pubs and clubs rather than empty head shops would indicate drinking is much more popular.

Drinking is also a social thing to do, sit around a table in the pub having the craic. You cant sit in a pub with a table full of head shop produce.

ITT: one group of drug users think they're better than another.
I cannot imagine people enjoying themselves in their own home, with friends.

Thought I'd just fix that for you.

I don't see people sitting in grocery shops eating their produce so they must be unpopular!
