Advice on car purchase

I'm looking to get a 320D as I've had one before and I'm pretty much set on another one. I'm trying to decide on whether to go for something around '02 or '03 for around €8K or go for an older one around '00 for €4K and not be tied to a long loan. Here's the €4K one I was looking at

and I've been told the central locking needs to be fixed on it and it would cost around €200 to fix (does this sound right?). The newers ones have between 90K and 110K on the clock and for the most part are in decent shape but I still need to test drive them and the one above.

Any advice on what I should do. I'm worried about the '02/'03 models because of the known issue with turbo failures and the swirl flap problem so don't want to end up with an expensive pain in my wallet. Thanks!

Cannot comment directly on the 320d but that one you linked has fairly high mileage and while that is not a problem for a diesel engine there maybe alot of other components that are near the end of their natural life. Things like gearbox, clutch, suspension could all need replacing if not done so already. Some very potential large bills there meaning you could be spending a large chunk of the value of the car on maintenance.

Food for thought when buying any high mileage car OP.
