I am looking to start out at shooting and am currently looking for a half-decent shotgun at a reasonable price. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what type of gun I should be looking at? Or does anyone have any they wish to sell? Also in the market for a second-hand gun safe if anyone is looking to offload one. My budget would be around the 500 mark for the gun-cheaper would be better!!

    Thanks in advance!

    Brian

    Hi Brian,
See the thread below about the Lanber 12g. That guy is looking for €750 and the gun is €1250 new. Thats cracking value and a fairly reasonable sporting gun to boot. If you were to trade it in one year you would nearly get ur money back. You wont get alot for €500.
Happy Hunting and welcome to your new addiction.

    Kind Regards

Id say you'll get a Baikal for under your budget. There not the most beautiful gun but they do work, the U&O versions are better than S/A
the skill is in the finger not the brand

Bought a very nice Winchester for 850 including a safe. Busted lots of clays and got my first cock and duck last month. Hopefully it'll last me a few years!! Where do you guys go to buy your hunting attire? Got a great realtree jacket, but with the weather the way it is these days need a pair of warm waterproof pants.
thanks again for all your tips.

well watch out where you buy stuff. shooting is full of robbers who will gladly make you think everything costs a fortune. i got a lot of clothes in army surplus stores. it warm, big sizes and easy to wash. buy accessories second hand. most shooting equipment never gets out of the safe?
