hi, I'm three quarters of the way through a new build of a 2500 ft.² house. I'm in a wheelchair and it is difficult to get around although not impossible but I was thinking would it save a lot of hassle and stress if I got an interior designer.

I'm looking for a traditional style but wondering what sort of price it would cost me for the service of an interior designer as I have no clue??

many thanks for the help and responses

The designer will do the footwork for you while providing the very best for your budget. My personal experience is not good about these guys. We did our furniture few months back. The so called designers did nothing. Finally we ourselves told the carpenters what to do. The "designer" visited only on the first and final day of the work to ask for payment. In majority of such cases, the designers are "agents" providing carpenters.

Qualified designers are members of The Interiors Association
www.theinteriorsassociation.ie or a similar organisation and are fully qualified to deal with all aspects of an interior design project.
Fees can vary depending on the nature of the job or the expertise of the designer. A top designer would cost €100 plus per hour but using one for even 3-4 hours could not only result in great looking interiors but also save more then the fee in recommendations about which products to buy or not to buy.

Here are some tips you need to consider when choosing a designer or designing firm that will best fit your needs
    1. know what you are getting-designer should outline exactly what their services will include at the outset so you are not left wondering if something is missing
    2. view their portfolio-It’s helpful to be able to see some completed projects that the designer has worked on to determine the range of styles they have experience with, as well as the attention to detail that they put into their projects.
    3. Confirm the price-Make sure you know exactly how much you will be charged for the entire designing process before you begin.
    4. Ensure that they understand your objectives and tastes

some very good advice there, many thanks for the replies. I'm still 50-50 on whether I will go for one or not but I will definitely take on board what has been said. Thanks again

unfortunately, I don't live in cork (signature is a business I'm involved in). the house is actually about 10 minutes from Dublin airport.
