I wish there was a way of seeing a timeline of thanked posts. The thanked post count goes up and one day but I don't know why...some generous soul is obviously looking through old posts and has found a belter by myself. I'd like the opportunity to be able to think warm thoughts about that kind gentle person. But alas that can never happen..

Oh and thanks count? I wouldn't know, I don't check it...

For me thanks is the only glimmer of hope I have in an otherwise painful and unfulfilling life. Each little bit of thanks means someone I will never meet approves of me and what I'm saying. Therefore I check my thanks ratio every 5-6.5 minutes to see if my worth in life has improved

It's a chronic affliction which stems from my childhood when my father never approved of anything I did. "AnonoBoy," he'd say, "You'll never amount to anything. You'll never get more than 8,000 thanks on something called boards.ie even though I have no idea what that is."

"I will Dad," I'd think to myself (even though I had no idea what boards.ie was either)

The rest of my life I searched for something that would win his approval and finally in 2006 I discovered there was such a thing as boards.ie

So today I proudly announce that I have gotten over 8,000 thanks on boards.ie! YES! I AM WORTH SOMETHING NOW FATHER!"


Too bad he died in 2003.
