Why are people still posting '+1' in threads without adding anything to conversation? Isn't this the point of the thanks system? It adds nothing and it's annoying! Do you think there should be a rule against it?

[monty python]This is a very silly thread[/monty python]

OP - I suppose that people may +1 because they feel that another user may have said what they wanted to say more eloquently etc. *shrugs* it's never really bothered me.

Sorry is their a difference between Boards Mobile and browsing boards via a mobile. Someone on another thread said they hit the thanks button by accident when poster was browsing on phone

I don't know what that equation is about, but it's needed as much as a rule against +1ing is

Most forums have a min 12 character limit, why not here?

    this is boards mobile
    http://m.boards.ie
fast, simplified version of boards, will work on most devices

if the full site works on your mobile phone, which it does on a lot of newer phones, you can still browse that way. But on a small screen not always easy

That a rule against posting +1 is anal, and that with all the other regulations that are likely to be added in future the place is at danger of becoming tedious to be a part of

And you shouldn't be allowed to end a sentence with a preposition. :D

Interesting math there. I've done some calculations, and I work out the result to be the following:

I'm open to correction but I don't think I've ever posted +1 alone as a response. All it says to me is postcount +1 and I'll judge the poster accordingly for future reference.
