Quinn direct to be precise. I have been with them since i bought my car two years ago, Im a 21 year old male so I know some of the high cost of insurance is down to that. My insurance is up for renewal at the start of next month and I received the letter from them today with next year's quote. I've been driving since I turned 17 and have my full licence 3 years and never had a claim. Last year I paid 1320 or there abouts (after alot of arguing), I recently got an online quote from quinn saying it should be about 960 or thereabouts.

The letter I recieved today quoted me 1280 a reduction on last years premium of €40. So I went and routed out last years proposal form and applied the provide NCB(23%) to the premium which brought it down to €1016. Still not satisfied I went online and obtained a quote as a new costumer of €956.72, so tomorrow, or when ever I have time I am going to ring up the call centre, request to speak to a supervisor and demand that my premium be dropped to at least €860.

I think that it disgraceful the way the company has tried to cheat a continuing costumer by €320 depending on the medium.

just thought I'd let you guys know incase the same is happening anywhere else

How exactly did you get a 23% discount, I dont understand that part ?

If you're on your own policy you could always add your mother/aunt/sister/girlfriend as a named driver. It would probably reduce your premium as in the eyes of the insurer, you (a young male driver) wouldn't be driving all the time as sometimes your mother/etc. (a female) would be driving and they are cheaper in insure.

And also, there's no reason why they shouldn't be able to do a better quote for you anyway. Their prices change from day to day.

On the price breakdown/declaration of the NCB it says NCB = 23% and then says total reduction €380, which leads me to believe they were originally charging approx 1600 to insure the car.

Its only a 1.3 fiesta for christ's sake!

Have you rang around other insurance companies? Quinn's premium prices are all over the shop these days with the administrator stuff and all that. They quoted me double what they quoted me last year for example.
