Just in case anyone didn't see the ads on TV3 this week, the UEFA Europa League Final is on at 7:30 so Glee is scheduled for 10:15pm.

Don't be too surprised if it runs over! :P

    C'mon Fulham :p

Though the time change really messes it up for kids, 10.15 is late enough for some of the children that watch it

Have to wait until Friday on 3e

I usually watch it online but didn't get a chance this evening so said I'd wait for TV3. I can't believe they did this. Surely they could have shown it on 3e or moved the Europa League final there.

They'll do it again unless we complain.

    Send them a mail here => http://www.tv3.ie/feedback.php

I'm off to watch it online now anyway. It was kinda pointless them making a big deal about having it "24hrs after the US" if they're gonna pull cr*p like this!

    !

Thanks for that. I've just complained about how little there is for men on TV3. From 7am until close it is just tv aimed at the female audience. The football is all the men get, and even then people complain about that!

Sorry, no they are not showing it on TV3 tonight but it will be on 3e on Friday. Unless of course they decide to pull it ! :D:mad:

Build a bridge. It's not about that, it's about their ineptitude at scheduling things correctly. They could have easily moved one or the other to 3e.

I'd say men everywhere are glad you're speaking on their behalf

It was decent of TV3 to let people know it wouldn't be airing tonight during the football!

That happened numerous times on RTÉ with stuff like 'Prison Break'.. and they'd announce just before it was due to begin (albeit 40 minutes late):

"Unfortunately.. our schedule is running 40 minutes and due to this, 'Prison Break' will not be airing tonight"

PS - No linking to the episode streaming online - have already banned DKZ for doing just that!

Well,tbf,TV3 or any TV network can never know if a match is going to go to extra time. This happens all the time with live sport and it'd be much worse if TV3 decided to switch the football to 3E halfway through it.

They're not showing it on TV3 now at all. It's always on 3e on a Friday, so they'll just revert to that. Poor you, I wouldn't like to be dealing with that now (((hugs)))

Not everyone watches football so they should have announced it also before the nightly news and as news flash on screen

Man, so pissed off with tv3 over this. Was really looking forward to it. It still recorded on my sky box and I got the whole way through some crappy post-match analysis (on fast forward) to discover they just didn't show it.

I understand people's disappointment but aren't we being a bit melodramatic? It's an extra 2 days of a wait for 3e!

You'd think TV3 axed it from their schedules or something!

    This stuff happens..

    I agree,

It should have been straightforward to announce the schedule change before the news, and they could have stuck the announce on screen more often during the football discussion.

Anyone who is unhappy with the changes should send them an email ^^^.

In fairness to TV3 I have send queries to them a few times and they have always responded.

If they get a lot of negative feedback on this they just might plan their schedules a bit more carefully in future,

What's to plan for? If any sports event runs late, it's inevitable sometime will get bumped due to time constraints - 'Glee' was the next show up after the footie.

They have football pundits (well... and Phil Babb! :p) doing pre and post-match analysis live in studio.

Well... outside of Channel 4 / E4, it's also repeated at 5pm on Sunday on TV3.

Ah but I'd say there's a good reason 'Glee' airs on TV3 first and primarily.. loads more viewers than 3e - which I can't even find on my Sky Box! :o

Ah come on now Basquille, I find that hard to believe, you being a TV mod and all that!

TV3 promoted 3e all year as being their Europa League station, they stuck all their Liverpool games on it.

Someone in TV3 has done a great job getting the Glee episodes less than 24 hours after their US premiere. I'm open to correction but I've never seen any programme rebroadcast so quickly, on a weekly basis.

Problem is, they don't bother promoting it on their website or their e-mails to subscribers. Then they kick it to touch for the Europa League which has been going nicely all season on 3e.

I know you can't please everyone but I think the right call on this would have been Glee on TV3, Europa League on 3e.

Hard not to find 3e it is channel 105

True, but they've ended up with it on 3e now anyway. I agree with SkidMark; They should have left the Europea League on 3e and then there wouldn't have been any issue.

Question - how do you propose they repeat the program on Sunday on TV3 when to repeat something you have to have done it at least once before? 3e doesn't count for those of us who don't have it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 Merod8

TV3 let a lot of glee fans down 2 night my kids are so dissapointed they waited and waited and then told it was cancelled, very unfair !!! tv3 should have put it on 3e tonight. Glee fans are regular tv3 watchers and they will be there when there's no football on.

Ahh.. yes, it's the station that shows nothing but US sitcoms that are well into syndication!

I should have rephrased it as "I can never notice it on my Sky box"

    Well.. that's all semantics really.

I'd be confident in saying they'll show it on Sunday.. providing snooker or darts isn't on before it! :D

Why don't they just cut some of the post-match analysis so they can go back to regular programming? Or do football fans need to be told what to think after they've watched a game?

I know RTE cut out the analysis after games that go over to extra time - and just put back the shows after it

RTÉ 2 showed Lost the night after it was broadcast stateside last season and the one before it.

Anyone has access to the internet and the will to do it, won't wait for 3e on Friday.

TV3 are already in the bad books for inexplicably stopping showing V (3 weeks now). I sent an email on that front but got no response.

TV3 promotes Glee loads and especially the fact that its the first station in Europe to show the new episodes one day after they air in the US so what will do they do now????????

Even flipping Xspose and TV3 Morning show were promoting Glee yesterday by showing snippets from the show that was to be show last night

I think its disgraceful of TV3 given what large fanbase Glee has in Ireland

Like a number of other people here I don't have 3e (tuning in TV3 was a challenge) and I have other plans for Sunday. So now either my plans change or I go online which means bringing my laptop to friends' house and ignoring them while I watch it. I think not.

I suspect the match was being aired on more than one station, Glee was not. Surely that gives it priority? And the argument offered by some here, that TV3 can't help it if a game goes into overtime? Well I can't think of many matches I've watched that HAVEN'T, anyone who's doing a schedule and doesn't allow for it should be removed from their job. Here's what you do, you allow 20 minutes for extra time, seems like a fair amount to me. If there isn't that much extra time you fill the gap with some post match analysis. Then you start your highly over advertised tv show at the time you promised. People are a little pissed you pushed it back, but they'll be appreciative that you managed it so neatly and that you didn't lie. Sounds simple, right? In fact, if TV3 had skipped the post match nattering, and maybe skipped some ads, they could have fitted Glee in where they promised! I'm highly doubtful that they had ever had any intention of showing Glee - if they had, why did they have an analysis panel and some poor girl reading out texts from sulky Fulham supporters? By their own projected schedule they had no time to show them.

Dear TV3; grow some balls. Seriously, if you had no intention of showing Glee you should have come out and said so a week ago. Some of us have better things to be doing than waiting to be dissapointed. If you had said a week ago that Glee was only showing on Sunday people would have been irritated but we'd get by. But stringing us along all week, and annoying football supporters during the match, with promises it would air, and then one tiny announcement that it wouldn't, is ridiculous. At least have the guts to do a proper announcement - I had the station on and managed to misse the one that you gave!

Here's the thing TV3, you had to have known there was a chance of extra time and therefore a chance Glee wouldn't air. But you insisted otherwise. Now when one tries to deny something so strongly it's a pretty good sign they know their choice is wrong. In deference to your love of soccer I say to you - make like Stephen Ireland and sort your head out!

Oh fozzle.... here lies the problem in people commenting on things they don't understand. you have confused extra time with stoppage time.
Face facts.... More people watch soccer than Glee
