Well, here's hoping for a bit more on Jesse-the-spy. Maybe Idina Menzel was having her baby at the time of filming which would explain the wait on this storyline. Hopefully it won't be too long before she's back in it. They really need to get moving on that one.

Hoping to see more of Molly Shannon up against Sue this week too :)

    Finally.

This was much better than any of the episodes since the hiatus. Its back on form and back to story driven eps.

    Wow. Just wow.

Am so so happy to say that Glee is finally back in top form. Loved this episode. There were so many zingers in the script I could hardly keep track of them and I was really impressed by Kurt's solo. (Rose's turn).

I think it's one of the best songs they've done and while I always liked Kurt as a character I had no idea the actor playing him was so talented. He owned the stage.
    I know that's cheesy but I loved his performance!:D

I thought it was a good episode too! Kurt is a good character and I love Brittany, so this was going to be a win from the start in my book. I'd actually like to have seen Rachel out for a few episodes if for no other reason than building the stable of characters so to speak.

The Kurt and his father dynamic is an excellent story and is probably one of the best done "gay youth" stories in any show I have seen to date.

Low point of the episode was Santana and "black from glee club whose name I can't remember right now" doing That Boy Is Mine - not bad necessarily, but a bit boring and uninspired.

I agree about One, it's a song that doesn't sound right with their pop-musical style singing. But it was better than That Boy Is Mine IMO. I definitely cringed when she called it "classic rock" though

Loved it too, and it would probably have been an all time favourite without the saccharine storyline - comparing Rachel's laryngitis to an athlete become paraplegic seemed very wrong. At least he wasn't an amazing singer.

Puck without the mohawk was nice! Loved his take on Sammy Davis Jnr, especially with Mercedes at his side. And I thought her and Santana were fab doing The Boy is Mine. Kurt was definitely the vocal star of the night though.

Shame that Mercedes has left the Cheerios - there was scope there with Sue, who had only one scene, but a good one.

And what about Terri? The actress is credited each week, yet she isn't seen, or even mentioned:( I want her back causing chaos.

Although the best moment of the night was Rachel MURDERING The Climb - I laughed very loudly at that. How the rest of them kept a straight face in that scene is beyond me!

    Agreed, they murdered One :(

Great episode. Loved Kurt's Rose's turn too.

I think the storyline with Rachel was to show her how much she over-reacted. Clearly you can't compare the two.

The Puck and Merc storyline was brilliant. I love Puck, we should see more of him.

    Loving Jesse's girl.

Brittany brilliant as always. "Who's that guy?" :-D

I loved the smiley head on Brittney! She was loving it. :)

Great episode. Kurt's solo was absolutely brilliant and I love the realistic relationship between himself and his dad too. It's good to see the honesty of his father struggling to deal with Kurt's sexuality instead of being all rosey in the garden from the second he came out.

I *hate* that version of One. Mary J. Blige should never have been let near that song. (I despise Bono but I do like One.) Good to see Rachel doing something nice for someone else though.

I want Terri and Howard Bamboo (he had some great lines too) to come back too! I reckon she'll reappear right when Will and Emma start getting their act together.

    Fave quotes:

Sue: And what am I supposed to do about that Mariah Carey number in which you do 10 straight minutes of vocal runs, huh? Nationals is in three weeks. Guess I'll just have to take to the mic and deliver a diatribe — probably something about immigrants.

Rachel: I'm like Tinkerbell, Finn, I need applause to live.

I thought that was hilarious too. It's those little things that are so funny.

I really liked tonight's episode. I think they're finally getting back on track. :)

I was glad this episode had a lot less Rachel in it than usual. I really think they need to branch out and make more use of the other characters. It was also nice to see they didn't have to rely on Sue for this episode either - she's been pretty much carrying the show single-handedly for the past few weeks.

Also, *swoon* Puck is just amazing. I love his voice and his dance moves. :D

Looking forward to next week's episode now which is something that hasn't happened me in a while.

I can't stand Puck as a character, he's just wayyyy to unbelievable

    Scarlih for his dance moves

and I don't like how they're all usin Mercedes for these little schemes

Santana sounds good, I wonder if its really her singin

Good ol Brit bein ditsy as ever

    *See's Puck with no mohawk*

From what I understand of the concept of the show is that they all are actually singing (albeit in a studio) and that the cast was chosen for ability rather than experience. I believe the guy who plays Finn was unknown prior to this.

I think Chris Colfer who plays Kurt was also unknown.

Two pet peeves with this episode..

    1) Hey! Finn! Leave those drums alone! Seriously, it's ridiculous and adds nothing to any of his songs. Everytime he hops on there, bangs about a bit, and then throws the sticks at some random band fella, all I think is "but the drums are still going...wtf!" :P

    2) Kurt's miming. He is without a doubt the absolute worst when it comes to miming as evidenced by his Mellencamp performance. When people say a word with an L in it, their tongue does not come out of their mouth like that! Stop doing it!!

    /rant :P

Kurt: Can I ask you something? What do boys' lips taste like?
Brittany: Usually dip. Sometimes it tastes like burgers. Or my armpits. Kissing my armpits is a really big turn-on for me.

I'm sorry, But I almost Wet myself Laughing at that

Ever since Jesse came into it, I've been waiting for someone to sing "Jesse's girl".

Back on form. I loved Mercedes and Santana too.

Is no one else seeing this show go downhill at an rapid rate? The storylines are just gone bizarre and lazy. Nothing that happens seems to matter anymore. The acting is gone completely down the toilet. The scene with Mercedez and Quinn was completely cringeworthy. As if they were reading the lines behind eachothers heads. Sue's lines are still brilliant, and Rachel is still hysterical and hilarious at times. But i'm finding they're the only things holding this show together. :(

I think the acting can be a bit cheesy, particularly Mercedes, but overall I wouldn't have an issue with it.

The problem that I have with it at the moment is the Jesse storyline (I know I'm like a broken record!!) and the compete lack of movement with it. Also, this episode was the first time Sectionals were properly mentioned. There does seem to be little direction at the moment but I'm ever hopeful it'll improve :)

I've also felt the show has gone way downhill since they came back. There's no real storyline. At least before the break we had the Preggers storyline which I liked.
Quinn is nothing more than a recurring character at the moment tbh

I liked it but not as much as last weeks episode Agree with Finn's drumming being ridiculous, gives me the heebie jeebies, it does. My nightmare scene would be Finn drumming and Will singing, makes me sick thinking about it:(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,747 ✭✭✭fisgon

    Oh please....

Kurt and his father.....give me a break...

    'Being true to yourself'.......bleh!

And the paralysed kid?!..trite, manipulative, patronising, .....and the horror that is 'One'.....

This is fast becoming laughable, overly sentimental, everybody-learns-and-becomes-a-better-person nonsense, like the worst of American TV. If it wasn't for Sue and the odd bit of dumb comic genius from Brittany it would be unwatchable.

I loved this episode! Kurt was amazing. I agree with a previous poster about his bad miming, but his singing was great, the second song blew me away.

They could do with having more episodes with not much focus on Rachel. It was nice seeing a less neurotic side to her near the end where she spoke to the paralysed kid.

Santana is a fantastic singer...why don't they give her more vocals? I love her!

    Puck...rawr! What a hottie!

The lack of progression with the Jesse storyline is frustrating, hope they move along with this soon.
