    Hi

I usually would have a breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs on 2 pieces of wholegrain toast, with a cup of coffee.

Is this too much eggs to be eating if i have this 5 days a week?

if your cholesterol is within the normal range then no its not too many eggs.. I would get bored of having the same thing 5 days in a row though. make sure the wholegrain toast is proper wholegrain (rather than coloured white bread) and its a pretty good breakfast

    Hi thanks,

Im in my mid-20's so never had my cholesterol checked, guessing it should be normal enough.

How do you know if it's proper wholegrain? What brands would best?

Any alternatives? Can get a bit boring...but hate porridge!

If you're sticking with the eggs than start doing omelettes with pretty much whatever you want thrown in. Egg muffins are good too, there's a recipe around here somewhere, sorry can't be more specific.

To be honest, I'd say the two slices of bread are worse than the three 3 eggs.
Obviously is depends on which eggs/bread/butter etc.

Dietary cholesterol does not necessarily increase blood cholesterol levels. Eggs don't raise your blood cholesterol levels so I wouldn't worry about it.

In fairness, if his cholesterol is high - this goes for anyone too - it's not because of the eggs. So really an overhaul of his entire diet would be advised, not just to avoid eggs.

I know you didn't quite blame eggs, but I'm just clarifying: if your diet is clean, then you can easily eat 3 eggs a day, or more.

If you're eating 3 eggs for breakfast then there is no need to have bread with them. Eggs are a filling enough breakfast on their own to keep you going until lunch time.

Because your age, sex, height, weight and job will have an influence on how much you eat. 3 eggs on there own would not come close to doing the trick for me.

Scrambled eggs made with a bit of butter, milk, cheese and 4 eggs does me until lunch time, and I have quite a large appetite

3 eggs for me would be a huge breakfast and of course it depends on lots of factors however I don't regard it as a sweeping generalisation to say 3 eggs is a big breakfast which would keep you full for hours for an average person.

Throw some Marks & Spencer 97% pork (gluten free) sausages into the mix. Pow! Spectacularily good!

what you said was that there was "no need" to have bread with them, which is a sweeping generalisation really.. im sure If I came along and said drop the eggs you dont need em and the wholemeal bread would keep the average person full for hours, a huge flaming war would soon follow!

having wholemeal bread with eggs for breakfast is perfectly fine (which is what the OP was asking) and would go a long way to keeping me full for longer.. then again I go to the gym in the morning so three eggs wouldnt sustain me for even an hour afterwards.

Depends on your size & energy expenditure. I saw an interview with this guy/beast;)
    andrei-arlovski-roach.jpg

He ate an 8 egg omlette and 12oz steak for breakfast!

I had 3 eggs liquidised with a little oats fried in a fair bit of coconut oil this morning.

yes magic eight ball possibly trains much harder and more consistently than anyone i know so that breakfast is just a snack for him.

Eggs every day is grand but a bit of variety is order of the day

Most cashew butter I see costs a fortune, might be cheaper to just buy cashews and liquidise them, you can add a little oil to make them more spreadable.

I made a mess of it but still regard it as my own messy nut butter none the less!

i just think its ridiculous that a guy cant ask a general question like is three eggs too much and we need to know his height weight age job description and anal capacity before giving an educated guess, look its three eggs,of course its ok and the bread is ok too,its not porridge like u said but look its balance in all things so if thats wat u consider brekkie...get it in to u man!!!one thing ive realised on this website and health and fitness in general is that theres no such thing as a straight answer so as a rule if u have a fairly balanced diet drink plenty of water get eight hours sleep and excercise ur doin a top job,may the road rise up to beat u my friend!

feikennyw, if it was that simple to be healthy as you've outlined, personal eating and training programmes would be non-existent.

The one-for-all method never works, we need to ask these questions because everyone is different and has different dietary needs.

some people want to go beyond the average diet (which for the vast majority is pretty poor) hence the nutrition forum

i completely agree and back to the original question,is his diet in the mornings okay, based on what he told us yes it is,the only thing he is guilty of is not having enough variety...
    p.s mellor........is there any need for that,seriously..
