    Hi all,

I have been lurking around this forum since early March and then unfortunately my employer let me go on the 19th March.

I fought really hard on the 19th March onwards to get my details and CV into every single e-mail box, recruitment agency and employer known or at least actively recruiting.

I was very dissapointed about the return from my toiling, from recruitment agencies not returning calls or e-mails, to employers doing the same and to the lack of Dear John Letters. The only DJL I received was from Danone(twice) and I followed up their DJL by asking for constructive feedback. I was told, by e-mail, there were 1567 applicants to the job and therefore there were many more people with more precise experience. Although it was a setback it was at least a response.

I lurked in this forum just to get a feel for what it is like out there, to skim people's experiences in interviews and to pick up on tricks to get in the door with employers.

I was only able to secure two interviews between the 19th March and today which is very damaging to a persons enthusiasm and ego.

I was able to secure 2nd interviews from both of those interviews and was actually happy to be offered both positions. I took a lot of hard work to .................."shine" at those interviews but its not as though I had nothing better to do.

I have accepted one of those positions with a well respected company in the sales industry, with great career goals and some nice benefits. I look forward to starting in a couple of weeks.

So, as a lurker, and rare contributor in this forum I say Thank you to all who put any type of post in this forum because although you may not know it you have contributed to my ability to stay sane and work towards another position.

Good luck to anybody who is currently awaiting news or attending interviews soon.

P.S I was placed in this position by GKR Search and Selection in Dublin.
