Not always. Price them both here and in the UK.

Price them in a good few places in the UK. Heavy car parts can have high delivery charges which rule out any savings, but check around because different places will have different charges.

Depends on manufacturer.

For my '98 GS300, I get parts from the USA, its around 50-70% the price compared to here including duty/shipping!

Always go online first is my advice. If you need the part quickly and the price here is about the same as UK/US price + postage then shop locally.
There really is no substitute to call into a shop and see the part for yourself and speak to the seller etc.
