JSA During The Summer

    Is it possible for a college student to claim JSA during the summer?

    My cousin lost his part-time job a couple of months ago. He was still in college when he got let go so he couldn't claim the dole but he's finishing for the summer next week and is unsure whether or not he can claim JSA during the weeks that he is off. He had been working in the same job for around a year and a half.

    Someone in full time education cant claim JSA

    No. But he can claim a PAYE refund.

    He cannot claim allowance during the summer but if he has enough prsi contributions he may have an entitlement to benefit.
