It already is, most of the Well L96s are of the AW Covert model which has an intergrated silencer like the MP5SD series.

The L96s with the muzzle brake are the standard real life versions.

But yeah for airsoft you can get an L96 thread adapter that will fit on the Covert's barrel. It won't make much difference to the sound at all.

The gas powered L96s are not as loud at the springers.

These should do the job if you want to go down that road.

If you want to reduce the sound of the springer L96's you can tinker around with the internals. I don't know much about that with sniper rifles but you can get so called silent springs and air cylinders. I have no idea how effective these upgrades are or if they are worth it.

Had a well l96 myself and added a silencer through a barrel adaptor and I personally found it made a noticable difference.
The l96 is VERY quite standard, add a silencer and you can def hear a diff. Lump some smoother running internals and I would call it practically silent.

Heard of some folk even going as far as to adding foam to the interior cavaties which makes sense, would stop any sound waves from metal on metal action echoing and propegating in teh hard plastic shell.
